Archana Devendra

Archana and her younger brother live in a shoddy 1 room shed in the slums in Mumbai. They reside with the mother. The father whereabouts are unknown he deserted them when they were very young. The mother works as a domestic help in the surrounding areas. While the mother is away at work, she ends up locking the children inside the shed as there is no one to watch over them. The mother is aware that this is not the right solution but is unable to do anything else now. Archana is a bright girl who has aspirations to become a teacher and mold the lives of other children like her.
