Sachin Vinjuda

Sachin Vinjuda’s parents had an inter-religious marriage and had little support from his father’s side of the family. His mother passed away in October 2020, leaving behind Sachin and his 2 younger brothers in the care of their father. The father turned alcoholic and the children are now in the care of their maternal grandparents. The grandfather was a watchman and lost his job during Covid and now sells tea to the workers in the area. The grandmother works as a maid, but they are unable to make ends meet. The father in drunken stupor demands money from the grandparents for his needs too. During Covid the family was struggling to provide 2 square meals to the kids. Sachin aspires to study and become independent and will be enrolled in Viraj Shri Ram Centennial School in Boisar, through the Happy kids program.
