Sree Salunkhe

Sree, 6 y/o, is the youngest of four children of a single mother. His mother is entrapped in a violent marriage for the past 20 years with a man who was prone to alcoholism and domestic abuse. Sree’s mother has been raising all 4 children largely by herself. Understanding the dynamics of her marriage, Sree’s mother educated herself and became a primary school teacher at the NGO, Muktangan, to support her family single-handedly. She is now concerned that little Sree will be influenced and traumatized by her husband’s erratic behaviour. Hence, Sree is encouraged and supported by his mother to join the Happy Kids Program in 2024 at Viraj Shriram Centennial High School, Boisar in Grade 1.
